A whole new world...

I have so much more respect for single mothers everywhere!

I was raised by a single parent. My mother Angela. She did an awsome job! I mean I am a successful military member. I did not end up in prison or dead- so, by overcoming all the obstacles a Mexican barrio brings, I suceeded.

My son is now with me in Albuquerque. His mother is working and going to school full time and that was taking a toll on my son while in Houston. We both agreed that his time with me would be better for him. It was so bad that Angel was throwing fits in class and one day his school nurse slapped him! Can you beleive that? That was a shock to me! I got on the first plane to Houston and we visited a lawyer to make everything better for my son.

Now, I am struggling to make a routine out of simple things. Like getting up earlier to get Angel ready for school. Making breafast and dinner on time. Helping Angel with bath time, study time and so much more. I have to iron his clothes the night before because if I wait in the morning I will not have enough time. Its tough! I think once I get into rythym I will be okay-

I did manage to get a dental, physicall and a therapy check up set up for Angel. Hopefully all will go well. My friends are kinda bummed out that I cannot go out and have fun anymore because my time is so tied up with Angel. It doesn't bother me much because I love having him around.

The challenges of becoming the man I never knew in my life, a father are rewarding and challenging. Adios.

Hey Friend. :0) Glad you updated. It's great to hear you so happy. God has a way of surprising you! I know you love him with all of your heart and everything will work out. They are always worth it.

Hope you are going to church.

Parenting is all trial and error for both men and women.

As long as you do it with love then all will be well.

The nurse slapped him?? GTFO, that would be the end of that nurse's job right there ... I hope u and the lawyers came up with something.

As for parenting, I am not a parent myself BUT I did have younger siblings and I know first hand how it is to deal w/kids everyday schedules ... best of luck with that.

Keep being a strong & focus man, ur son will appreciate it in the end.
